Originally trained as an Engineer, I work as a visual designer and artist in a variety of fields, including corporate design, mobile games & apps, animated TV series, and product marketing campaigns. I’m also a new media fine artist, and enjoy exploring my Pakistani culture & heritage across emerging media like virtual reality, augmented reality, and projection mapping.
How did you begin creating art/illustrations?
I used to draw a lot as a kid. Later on, during my Engineering, I would be doodling when I should have been solving math equations, until eventually I decided to make a career out of it!
What motivates you to create art inspired by Pakistani culture?
There is tremendous beauty to be found within Pakistani culture, but sometimes it is difficult to see because of troubling events that surround my nation. I create art as an exploration and celebration of the more beautiful aspects of my culture.
What is your goal with your work as an artist?
To be inspired and to inspire others.
